Terms & Conditions

The following are terms & conditions set forth by Business & Hospitality School Switzerland (BHS SWITZERLAND).

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is subject to availability. Other accommodation options may be available on request; please contact us for more details.

All accommodation charges must be paid to BHS SWITZERLAND directly and all prices are for per person and per academic year unless stated otherwise.

ADMINISTRATION OF PROGRAMS

If you fail to enroll or fail to complete your program, you will be excluded from your program without a transfer to another program or refund.

If you wish to change the date of admission, you should contact the Registrar Department at least two months in advance. In such a case, you might have to pay the difference between tuition fee paid and tuition fee of your preferred date of admission plus an administration charge of CHF 100.

AIRPORT PICK-UP

Students requesting an airport pick-up must provide:

  • flight details including date and time of arrival, flight numbers, airline and airport terminal –  14 days prior to arrival
  • their mobile number including the international area code

For those students who have booked an airport pick-up on arrival, we will send an Arrival Transfer Confirmation to reconfirm the student’s flight details and arrival time.

Airport pick-up includes a maximum of 1 hour waiting time. In the event of a delay exceeding 1 hour, students will be charged an additional fee.

If there are more than 3 students travelling on the same flight, a shared pick-up can be requested.

Students who have requested a departure transfer to the airport  should speak to the School Administrators a few days before departure in order to agree on a pickup time and collect their Departure Transfer Confirmation.

APPLICATION & TUITION FEE

You need to ensure that you have sufficient time to apply and obtain a student visa (if you require a visa to stay in Switzerland). 

You must pay all required tuition fee, application fee and any other additional fees in full amount before the date of your admission.

Once paid, the tuition fee and application fee cannot be transferred as credit to other students.

Tuition fee does not include materials or services you might require during your study e.g. textbooks, etc.

Application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

ATTENDANCE

Students must attend a minimum of 80% of their classes otherwise they may lose their place on the programme.

No refund will be given and where applicable the home office will be informed.

A student who does not meet the attendance requirement will not receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.

It is the responsibility of the student to inform the school of all illnesses and absences.

CHANGES TO PROGRAMS AND STUDENT BEHAVIOUR

If BHS SWITZERLAND cancels a program after a student’s enrollment, BHS SWITZERLAND will refund all fees already paid by the student. 

However, we reserve the right to suspend or expel a student without a refund of fees for misconduct behaviour that repeatedly upsets the harmony of the school.

CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE

BHS SWITZERLAND reserves rights to expel a student from the program for unacceptable behaviour or lack of attendance. 

No refund will be made once the student is expelled from their program.

If the student intentionally or negligently damages the school’s property, the student will be responsible to pay the full cost of repairing or replacing that property.

DEPOSIT AND DAMAGE OF PROPERTY

In the event of damage to the school’s property, the student will be responsible to pay the full cost of the repair or replacement of the property.

Students will be required to pay a deposit for their accommodation.

The deposit will be returned upon the student’s departure provided there is no damage, loss or extra cleaning to be paid for.

DISABLED STUDENTS

BHS SWITZERLAND staff is available to provide assistance to students with disabilities in choosing a program that will meet their requirements. 

In order to assist BHS SWITZERLAND staff, the student must, at the time of registration, provide a written document explaining their disability and any special requirements as a result of the disability.

ENROLLMENT

To register for a program, simply complete the contact form at Contact Us and our admissions office will assist you with your registration.

You will receive email confirmation of your registration. The Admissions Office will send you an “Offer Letter” and an invoice for your fees within 72 hours after we receive the Application Form and all the documents required.

Students who wish to apply for a student visa will be required to provide more documents. We will provide further supporting documents in line with the Visa and Immigration regulations at the time of the registration.

EXAM COURSES AND EXAM FEES

Exam fees or other costs related to exams and official tests are not included in the tuition, accommodation, meals or operating fees. 

The student will be responsible to pay these exam fees when applicable.

FORCE MAJEURE

BHS SWITZERLAND will not be responsible for any costs incurred by or on behalf of the student as a result of causes beyond our reasonable control. Such causes shall include but shall not be limited to riot, war, a threat of war, civil strike, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, unusually adverse weather conditions and infectious diseases.

HEALTH

Students must inform BHS SWITZERLAND of any mental or physical condition, allergy, or disability that may interfere with the completion of their program, affect the health and well-being of others or require special accommodation or treatment. BHS SWITZERLAND will not be responsible in case of any misrepresentation or willful omission of information on the student’s part.

IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES

You must comply with all requirements of the Immigration Authorities at all times!

On receipt of the application fees, BHS SWITZERLAND will provide written confirmation of your enrollment. During your program, if you need to extend your student visa to continue your study with us, you are responsible to ensure that the extension is obtained.

BHS SWITZERLAND or BHS SWITZERLAND ’s partners will provide you with the appropriate documents only if you comply with these Terms & Conditions.

If BHS SWITZERLAND or a BHS SWITZERLAND partner is of the opinion that you do not intend to follow our program or you are not able to study, we may not allow you to enroll in our program.

INSURANCE

BHS SWITZERLAND requires students to have adequate health, accident and travel insurance while attending our school. 

BHS SWITZERLAND reserves the right to require proof of insurance and, where the proof is not available, students must immediately purchase at least one-week insurance from BHS SWITZERLAND . BHS SWITZERLAND reserves the right to claim this cost from uninsured students, and during this one week students must purchase insurance for their entire stay in Switzerland. 

Uninsured students will not be given access to classes until proof of insurance is available and will not be refunded for loss of lessons.

LIABILITY

BHS SWITZERLAND will not be responsible for any property loss or damage that arises out of or in connection with the consequence of the student’s usage of BHS SWITZERLAND premises.

BHS SWITZERLAND will not be liable for the safekeeping and delivery of any post sent to you at BHS SWITZERLAND campus.

PAYMENT

All program tuition fees must be paid no later than 4 weeks before your program start date. In the case of late registration, the student will pay the tuition fee immediately with their application form in order to secure a place on the program.

The following methods of payment are acceptable:

  • Only bank transfers to BHS SWITZERLAND Bank account
  • Online Payment via the portal provided by the Finance Office ofBHS SWITZERLAND

Fees are paid in either USD, CHF, GBP or EUR.

All bank charges must be paid in advance by the sender. 

Students must send a copy of the proof of transfer/payment document to BHS SWITZERLAND with all payments and specific details: Student’s name, center (if applicable), date of payments and invoice number

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS AND OUR TERM DATES

Relevant dates can be found on the respective country’s embassy website.

BHS SWITZERLAND does not make up for lessons missed on published Public Holidays and there is no refund for lessons missed.

QUERIES AND COMPLAINTS

Students should report to the Quality Control Office of BHS SWITZERLAND regarding any issues that make the student feel unhappy with the programs such as lecturers, exams, school facilities etc.

BHS SWITZERLAND always listens to our students and continuously tries to improve our services for them.

REDUCTION OR SHORTENING OF PROGRAM AFTER ARRIVAL

Students requiring a student visa:  Students who require a visa are not able to shorten or reduce the number of lessons of their program due to the terms of their visa.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS POLICIES

Students are asked to read the Refund and Cancellation Policies carefully.

No refund or credit will be offered for students who wish to change or cancel the program after the program is started. 

BHS SWITZERLAND Refunds and Cancellations Timeline

  • 100% refund of all fees and the deposit, if 3 months or more notice is given by signed form to BHS SWITZERLAND before the program starts, (or if a student’s visa is refused).
  • 50% refund of all fees and the deposit, if between 2 and 3 months notice is given by signed form to BHS SWITZERLAND before the program starts.
  • 10% refund of all fees and the deposit if between 1 and 2 months notice is given by signed form to BHS SWITZERLAND before the program starts.
  • 0% refund of all fees and the deposit received after the program starts.

Note:

  • Application Fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Any refund due will be paid to the person or organization who originally paid the fees and will be made within 45 calendar days of written confirmation (not counting public holidays).
  • In the case of serious illness, the student is allowed to defer until the student recovers from the illness. No refund of the paid deposit is given in this case.

 

For students who require a visa, 100% refund of the tuition fee and deposit is only provided when the visa application is not approved. 

BHS SWITZERLAND will only provide refund if the student visa application is refused, provided that:

  • BHS SWITZERLAND has received full payment of Deposit, Tuition Fees, Application Fee and other fees related.
  • Students are required to fill in the Refund Request Form and send it together with the refusal document from the Immigration Authorities to the Admissions Office, stating refusal reasons.
  • Students will not be entitled for refund if their visa application is refused due to their own mistakes in that the student did not follow the visa procedures when applying for a visa, including the submission of fraudulent documents.
  • BHS SWITZERLAND will not provide a refund if the student has obtained a visa but then decides not to enroll in the program.
  • BHS SWITZERLAND will make a refund directly to the student or partner/agent that made the payment.
  • Application Fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • BHS SWITZERLAND is not responsible for any refusal of student visa cases. If any evidence that the visa refusal is due to our fault, BHS SWITZERLAND will provide the full refund or help the student to re-apply. No additional compensation will be given.

 

This refund policy will apply from 1.1.2021 onwards.

RESOLUTION OF DISPUTES

In the event of a dispute between a student and the school, procedures are in place to facilitate the resolution of the dispute. Please visit Complaint & Feedback Procedure for more details.

SCHOLARSHIP – ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS

Students who receive partial scholarships from BHS SWITZERLAND and wish to withdraw at any time before they complete their program, will need to pay the full program fees before stopping their participation in the program.

Scholarships are normally given to students who are deserving or in financial need. Therefore, scholarship students should respect the privilege that they have taken up from another needy student and comply with all scholarship rules.

SERVICES

BHS SWITZERLAND reserves the right to change details of its services, including programs, facilities, locations and course dates where circumstances beyond BHS SWITZERLAND’s control necessitate such changes, or where the number of enrollment is not enough to operate a program/course viably.

Please note an external classroom may be used during busy periods, students may be taught off-site. Further details will be available during orientation.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

BHS SWITZERLAND will organize a weekly social program, including low-cost weekend coach excursions and a selection of free and good value local activities and visits.

STUDENT HOLIDAYS

All holidays taken be students must follow individual school plans.

STUDENTS VISA

Students planning to study in Switzerland: In accordance with Visas and Immigration guidelines, La Xenia requires payment of fees in full prior to issuing a visa letter of Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS). Students must notify BHS SWITZERLAND immediately in the case of refusal or any changes to their status.

Refusal: If the student fails to obtain their visa, the student will receive a refund of the total amount except the CHF 500 Admission Fee and CHF 300 Register Fee only after we receive written documentation from the consulate on your visa denial.

Please note that there will also be a charge of one week’s home-stay accommodation fees and full amount of Operation Expenses CHF 3000 for any cancellation or postponement notified less than 14 days before the start of the program. Specific terms will apply to residential accommodation.
