Operating Expenses
The Operating Expenses is additional to the tuition, application, meals and accommodation fees and is to be paid yearly for each year of study.
BHS SWITZERLAND will, at its discretion, charge to this Operating Expenses such things as:
- Compulsory monthly health and accident insurance premiums during the academic semester
- BHS SWITZERLAND’s uniform suit, BHS SWITZERLAND’s t-shirt
- Simcard, airport pick up (for new students only)
- Student card and name tag
- Visa, B-permit and local tax (in Switzerland)
- Access to e-campus and internet
- Excursions and field trips
- Job placement upon graduation
- Chromebook access for classes
- Ebook and class materials
- Student Counsellor
- Campus Recreational Facilities
- Kitchen uniforms, shoes and cooking materials ** ONLY included for Culinary Arts students and kitchen practical classes
The Operating Expenses does not cover negligent or wilful breakages or loss of school property, which will be charged at replacement cost. A security deposit of CHF 1,500 is required from all applicants upon arrival. Any damage / loss of school property by students will be deducted from the security deposit.
The Operating Expenses does not include health insurance during work placement in Switzerland, which is required by Swiss law. BHS SWITZERLAND reserves the right to collect this from students prior to work placement. Students may apply to BHS SWITZERLAND to pay this from work placement wages (approval at the discretion of BHS SWITZERLAND ).
Note: The Operating Expenses are partly refundable if a student leaves BHS SWITZERLAND before the end of the academic year under amicable terms. The amount of the refundable fee is under the discretion of BHS SWITZERLAND and will be dealt with on a case-to-case basis.
Payment Plans
BHS SWITZERLAND can provide students (new and returning) with a payment plan to help extend the payment of their educational fees. Please note, this service will be subject to an interest rate applied on a per semester basis as well as this service is not available for all students. We will consider it case-by-case.
BHS SWITZERLAND Refunds and Cancellations Timeline
- 100% refund of all fees and the deposit, if 3 months or more notice is given by signed form to BHS SWITZERLAND before the program starts, (or if a student’s visa is refused).
- 50% refund of all fees and the deposit, if between 2 and 3 months notice is given by signed form to BHS SWITZERLAND before the program starts.
- 10% refund of all fees and the deposit, if between 1 and 2 months notice is given by signed form to BHS SWITZERLAND before the program starts.
- 0% refund of all fees and the deposit received after the program starts.
Note:
- Application Fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Any refund due will be paid to the person or organization who originally paid the fees and will be made within 45 calendar days of written confirmation (not counting public holidays).
- In the case of serious illness, it’s allowed to defer until the healing of the illness. No refund of the paid deposit is given in this case.
